The primary service of the Gerholz Center is to meet a broad spectrum of counseling needs. Counseling is provided by highly credentialed, professional staff, experienced in mental health and ministry as well as by highly skilled and trained volunteer peer counselors.
The Center provides counseling for adults, couples, families and children. We have specialized resources and specially trained staff for working with children. All counseling information is held in the strictest confidence. When our services are not the most appropriate we offer referrals to other counselors or agencies in the community. All services are provided on a donation basis.
While the vast majority of our counselees come from the community at large, ministry to this congregation is a priority. When a member of this congregation or when a member of your immediate family calls the Center, we will respond promptly to make sure that you receive the services you need.

| STORY |
The Robert P. Gerholz Center for Christian Counseling is a ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Flint. As such, the Gerholz Center provides Christian counseling services for the Church and community. The Center was named for Mr. Robert P. Gerholz, a prominent developer, philanthropist and member of the Church. Since its establishment in 1983, the Center has served over 5,000 counselees.
Supported by prayer and guided by the Holy Spirit, the Gerholz Center offers counseling that is Christian, compassionate and clinically excellent. Counseling services are provided by highly credentialed, professional staff, experienced in mental health and ministry as well as by highly skilled and trained volunteer peer counselors. As a ministry of First Presbyterian Church the Gerholz Center does not charge fees for our counseling services. However, contributions provide necessary income and are gratefully received.
