D'Iberville, Mississippi
February 23rd - March 2nd

| SATURDAY |
The 2008 edition of the D'Iberville mission is under way.
The mission team arrived about 5 p.m. Saturday after a 19-hour bus trip and got settled in the volunteer village. After attending Sunday services at First Presbyterian Church of Ocean Springs, MS, where several members joined the choir, the mission team spent the remainder of the afternoon variously involved in sightseeing, napping and epicurean folderol at Aunt Jenny's Catfish Restaurant. In a strange twist of fate, Rev. Earl Stewart, who delivered the sermon, turned out to be a graduate of Flint Northern High School.

| SUNDAY |
Sunday evening was reserved for volunteer orientation. The First Pres. team joined those from Illinois, North Carolina, Maryland, New York and New Jersey to learn the ropes of the volunteer village and receive work assignments. Irene McIntosh, President of the D'Iberville Volunteers Foundation, gave a stirring account of the events preceding, during and following Hurricane Katrina before thanking all in attendance for their volunteer efforts.
If there was a dry eye in the house following McIntosh's presentation, that person apparently had not been paying attention.
