Jail Ministry Service on October 28

If you have ever felt led to share your faith with those in jail, please consider taking part in this ministry.  For each service, six to eight men and women from our church go and provide a 45 minute Worship Service during which we lead in hymns, scripture readings, a short message, and a time of prayer and support.  This is a great opportunity; it allows us to be used by God to reach out to others. If you’re interested or have any questions, please call Steve Baillie at the church, 810-234-8673.

Cross/Purpose

On October 25 in the first floor hallway, you will see our display of the Cross/Purpose, a show dealing with the Cross, is rich in variety and meaning. The time frame for works in the exhibit begins with a sixth-century coin from Constantinople, jumps to a small 15th century woodcut by an anonymous artist, winds through several works from the Catholic Reformation, runs head-long into the wars and Outsider Art of the 20th century, and ends with some remarkable contemporary pieces by living artists. Along the way viewers encounter figurative, abstract expressionist, realist, and conceptual art by such masters as Jacques Callot, Mar Chagall, Georges Rouault, Bernard Buffet, Alfred Manessier, Jacaques Villon and Otto Dix. This exhibit comes to us from Christians in the Visual Arts located in Wenham, Massachusetts.
