Lisa Horne

In addition to her work in the Community Ministry of the Church, Lisa Horne has begun serving as a part-time professional counselor at the Gerholz Center. For the past four years, Lisa has volunteered her time to see a few clients at the Center. During that time, she has been supervised by Barb Horcha and has gained significant experience in providing therapy for individuals and families. Lisa adds her gifts in counseling to a group of exceptionally able and dedicated professional and volunteer counselors at your Gerholz Center for Christian Counseling. In Lisa's own words:

"I grew up being the person that people would come to and share their concerns. Little did I know that one day God would use me to help meet the needs of people through Counseling Ministry. Proverbs 11:14 says "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety." God has given us the gifts to listen to others and share in guiding people in their journey from a Christ centered perspective. To me this entails demonstrating compassion for people to help them improve their well-being, manage distress, resolve crises, and increase their ability to live more highly functioning lives. I am blessed that I have been chosen to serve in this capacity and with God guiding and directing my path, will be a blessing to those I serve. This is truly an honor."

Anyone who has met Lisa knows that she is a woman of deep faith and great compassion. Additionally, Lisa possesses remarkable counseling skills. She is a fully licensed master's degree social worker and, in her time as a volunteer, has helped to bring healing to the lives of many clients. As a member of the staff of the Gerholz Center she will be able to see more clients and, in so doing, offer hope to even more people. We look forward to her increased service with joy and thanksgiving.
