Carl Angelo

Be sure to welcome First Presbyterian's new organist, Dr. Carl Angelo, after the service on July 4, 2010.

Carl Angelo is a 1991 graduate of Indiana University with a doctorate in organ performance. He has a Bachelors of Music degree in Music Education and a Masters of Music degree in Sacred Music from Kent State University and is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honorary Society.

He has performed organ, piano, and chamber concerts in Ohio, Indiana, Florida, Virginia, and Michigan. His organ teachers have included Larry Smith, John D. Herr, and John Ferguson.

Prior to coming to First Presbyterian, Dr. Angelo was the Minister of Music/Organist at First Congregational Church, Saginaw, Michigan where he directed a comprehensive music ministry program consisting of adult and children’s choirs, handbell choir, recorder consort, and Musical Arts Series. In addition to serving the First Congregational Church in Saginaw, Dr. Angelo has also served churches in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Winter Haven, Florida.

He is the pianist for the Saginaw Choral Society, the director of the Saginaw Youth Chorale, a chorus of children grades 4-8, and adjunct piano instructor at Saginaw Valley State University.

When unoccupied by his work and hobbies (which include cooking, eating, and stained glass) he is entertained by his three cats (Florestan, Eusebius, and Parmigiano Reggiano) and happy-go-lucky golden retriever, Abby!
