The Pipe Youth Ministry: Ministry Opportunities
Neighborhood Breakfast-Sunday mornings @ First Presbyterian Church is a great opportunity to serve others by serving breakfast to the neighborhood. Meet in the Parrish Hall @ 7:45am and come prepared to serve and clean.
Thanksgiving Dinner: Once a year we serve a dinner for all of those who attend the neighborhood breakfast and their friends. It is the Tuesday before thanksgiving in the Parish Hall. You can help by serving the meal, or working as a waiter or waitress. You can meet and greet people and be a part of the community of faith serving others.
Christmas Dinner-Once a year, we serve the neighborhood community a warm meal and give them the opportunity to shop for their children in the Pipe. We gather gifts for all ages and those who come to the dinner get the opportunity to shop while their children make crafts with adults who assists them in making gifts for their parents. It is an exciting time of service to others in the community. Join us and experience the beauty of the holiday season by serving others in a time of need.
Salem Housing-The second Saturday of each month is another wonderful opportunity to serve others by participating in home repair. We meet at the church @ 8:15am and go to Salem Housing for instructions and directions to the home that we will be working on that particular day. We work until 12:30pm and go home. It is a great opportunity to give back to the community.
Praise & Worship Band-If you can play an instrument and would be interested in playing in our P&W band, contact Jim or Gerry Leslie. It is a great opportunity to serve others and use your talents.
Youth Team-We desire to give students a voice here at First Presbyterian Church. If you like to plan activities, share creative ways to communicate and be a part of our leadership team, contact Jim and join our youth team.
Junior High Service Week-Our 7th - 8th graders work with Salem Housing in order to serve the community. We do 4 days of work projects at a local park or home. We have fun activities in the evenings and students sleep in their own beds.
Senior High Mission Trips-We take mission trips each year throughout the states and abroad. It is a great opportunity to experience real service to others for an extended period of time. Watch the bulletin and website for information on upcoming mission opportunities.Chapel Choir-Meets every Sunday in the Choir Room on the second floor from 5:45-6:45 PM.
Junior High Ladies Small Group-Meets in the Pipe Green Room on Wednesdays with Janeen Reigle at 6:30pm.
Ushers and Greeters-Our community of believers is always looking for others to greet on Sunday mornings. We also are looking for students willing to be trained to become ushers in the service.
