Gerholz Center Story

Story

As a Ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Flint, the Robert P. Gerholz Center for Christian Counseling was formed to provide Christian counseling services for the Church and the community of Greater Flint. The Center was named for Mr. Robert P. Gerholz, a prominent developer, philanthropist, and member of the Church. The Center serves as a bridge between the Church and resources of the mental health community. Since its establishment in 1983, the Center has served over 5,000 individuals and families.

The primary service of the Center is to meet a broad spectrum of counseling needs, in the highest professional manner supported by prayer and guided by the Holy Spirit. Counseling services are provided by highly credentialed, professional staff, experienced in mental health and ministry as well as by highly skilled and trained volunteer peer counselors. All staff and volunteers are committed Christians. All services are provided at no charge; however, contributions are gratefully received.
