Christ enters the world saying, “Here I am… I have come to do your will.” Advent is not only about Christ’s birth but about Christ’s obedience—a self-giving love that fulfills God’s purposes. Jesus doesn’t offer sacrifices from a distance; he offers his whole life. This shows us that God’s will is not burdensome but life-giving, rooted in love and mercy.

In this passage, obedience and joy are intertwined. Christ’s “yes” to God becomes salvation for the world. Advent invites us to locate our own small “yes”—the ways we can respond to God’s call in our daily relationships, work, and decisions. Our obedience, however modest, participates in God’s redemptive work.

Reflection Question:
Where might God be inviting you to say a small but meaningful “yes” this week?
