Everything you need to know about Kickoff Sunday 2022. (Hint: It’s September 18).
Everything you need to know about Kickoff Sunday 2022.
While the summer isn’t quite through with us yet—the weather report this weekend shows highs approaching 90!—the time has come to turn our attention to the fall. So channel your thoughts of boots crunching through wet brown leaves while sipping something pumpkin flavored. Fall is coming whether you want it to or not.
Each year we celebrate the ending of what we call “The Season After Pentecost” and the beginning of “Ordinary Time” by gathering for a mini-celebration we call “Kick Off Sunday.” This year is no exception: on Sunday, September 18, we will be holding this year’s celebration. What is different this year, however, is the schedule of events on Sunday mornings for the Fall. Let’s get into it.
Beginning on Sunday, September 18, things will look a bit different at FPCF on Sunday mornings. Here’s the new Sunday schedule. (Click on an item to read more about it).
-
Those volunteers who are assisting to prepare and serve Neighborhood Breakfast will arrive to the church kitchen for instructions.
-
Our weekly community-wide breakfast program will return to in-person dining inside Parish Hall. Those wishing to carry-out their breakfast may continue to do so. The breakfast lines will remain open until 9:10.
-
Our fabulous nursery care staff will be opening the second floor earlier to allow parents of young children to attend the morning Choir rehearsal.
Those singing in the Chancel Choir will meet on the second floor to rehearse, as per usual.
Choir rehearsal will dismiss at 9:25 to allow singers to attend the morning Faith Formation class.
-
Children’s Faith Formation will begin in The Grove (Third Floor).
Middle/High School Faith Formation will begin in the Pipe (Lower level).
Adult Faith Formation will begin in Parish Hall. Coffee will be provided for those in attendance.
-
Beginning just after 10AM, coffee fellowship will be set up in the Great Hall (just outside the sanctuary). Stop by and fill up a church mug with a cup of coffee and say hello to fellow church-goers.
-
Parents are encouraged to pick up their kids from their Faith Formation classes and head to the Sanctuary for Morning Worship.
-
Our joyful, reflective, and Christ-centered service of worship in our beautiful Sanctuary begins at 10:30AM and concludes at 11:45AM. All are welcome!
We are excited about the possibilities and opportunities this revised Sunday schedule offers. We sincerely hope that you commit to attending our morning Faith Formation class and Sunday worship service and that by doing so your faith is deepened and strengthened.
See you on September 18!
